Manuscript development
A written report and discussion detailing the strengths and weaknesses of the story or essay. This would include strategies to amend and/or rewrite and tools to help with the process. Areas investigated would include intention, structure and syntax, theme, language, character, tone, pace, detail, transitions, motif, clarity, grammar, style and formatting.
Structural editing, document formatting and style layout
A written report and discussion regarding the structure, language and shape. This would be a more nuts and bolts approach to editing and would include document formatting, layout of paragraphs, section breaks, dialogue tags, and font. For essay writing this would include referencing.
Group work
It would be possible to work in small groups in an informal setting such as the local library or other venue. Workshops would be available across Melbourne’s south-east, Mornington Peninsula, and the Dandenong Ranges.
Documents
In conjunction with written feedback there may be opportunities to provide notes on extra reading relating to genre and style.
Tailored
The list above is comprised of what I believe are areas of general support. However, we are all different, and our abilities are made up of things we find easy or enjoyable, and things we find tough, unclear, or plain boring. I will work with these differences as best I can to tailor my feedback to every individual.
